Unlike traditional IP68 sealed units, Subsea Formula’s water-flooded design eliminates the primary failure modes of sealed underwater gearheads - seal degradation and pressure compensation failure - while delivering exceptional reliability and efficiency at a fraction of the cost. Internal water equalization eliminates pressure differentials, allowing design without sealed chambers or pressure compensation systems.
The design reduces costs through higher durability, reliability, and low maintenance requirements. The gearheads achieve high efficiency ratings and allows for quiet, smooth operation with minimized vibration levels.
The water-flooded design provides natural cooling, preventing heat buildup and eliminating thermal degradation common in sealed units.
The relatively low rotational inertia makes these gearheads ideal for applications requiring stop/start and reversing operation.
