Bring us a problem, an idea or a drawing. We design, build and test it in our own workshop.

Mechanisms and tools. Drives, gearheads, winches, handling and recovery tools for underwater work, taken from concept to a working prototype.

Controlled systems. Actuator, sensor, controller and operator interface designed as one system: current-limited drives, torque limiters, teleoperated manipulators, and electronics that work beside heavy switching loads.

Make and test. Machining, welding and fabrication in stainless steel, titanium, nickel alloys, bronze and aluminium, followed by hyperbaric pressure testing.

Hard conditions, short schedules. Equipment designed to be moved by truck every week and run all day, and an animatronic figure built in eight weeks that ran through a desert festival.

On site: a 3-axis CNC milling machine, lathes, grinding and drilling machines, a CNC plasma cutting system, welding equipment, a press, tube and pipe benders, a guillotine, hyperbaric pressure test chambers and ultrasonic flaw-detection equipment.

Subsea Formula has its own workshop and test equipment and works with manufacturing partners in Germany.

We work with 316/316L stainless steel, titanium grades 2 and 5, nickel‑based alloys, nickel aluminium bronze, and aluminium, selected according to the requirements of each project.

What the team has built

• A 3 m, 350 kg teleoperated hand, controlled by a glove, that toured corporate events every month.
• Animatronics and mechanical stage pieces for artists: a speaking orangutan built in eight weeks for Burning Man, sealed against alkaline dust, and a flyable stage egg with a hydraulic lift, rated rigging and hand-posed mirror manipulators.
• A real-time spacecraft docking simulator, with virtual instruments and a centrifuge control system that reproduced the g-loads of docking, built as a commissioned project.
• A tracked electric vehicle with a current-limited drive and clutch protection.
• 40H steel joints, a steel considered nearly unweldable, with the TIG procedure developed during the build.
• A medical device commissioned by a clinic, designed and handed over.
• Water-flooded gearheads with ratios up to 1:76,755, and a submersible winch.
